I've been fascinated by and owned a great many radios over the years (not to mention having been an FCC licensed radio tech for a number of years) so I've seen the state of the art progress for as long as there have been portable transistor radios and let me state there is nothing significantly wrong with this little radio that a good set of earbuds (such as Denon C750/751) and strong local station signal strength won't fix. In fact, the combination of sensitivity, selectivity, and low noise amplification are easily the best I've ever seen in a portable. The fact that Insignia had the confidence to retail it at $69.95 tells me they put an uncommon level of quality into it, and it shows if you know what to look for.
This is not an HD radio module you can plug into a car or home system and get wifi levels of variety and stability. It is a well made and hight performing pocket FM radio with unavoidable but manageable limitations; the largest of which is the fact that earphone wires make a very unstable antenna with all but the strongest of signals. If you live in a fairly remote area you may be disappointed but if you are lucky enough to have lots of strong local stations audio quality will simply be stunning, especially in HD!

I am surrounded by 3 radio staions and each have a hd station this Unit does not pick them up.
For now this wast of 40 dollars sits in a dashboard cubby hole. The seller was awesome don't get me wrong The Product it Self works Just Not in denver and not on the HD stations I wanted to get it for
